Do you wish to know more about your African American family and where they came from? Have you wondered if building a family tree when you know so little would be difficult? Join this workshop to get started on pulling your family tree together!
Skill Level: Beginner to Intermediate

Virtual Classroom Time (Evening Session): 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm CST
Class Date: Thursday, February 23; Tuesday, February 28, and Tuesday, March 7, 2023
- Three sessions (2 hours each) of instruction, discussion, and skill building.
- Login registration information for entry into the Zoom classroom will be forwarded after your purchase.
- Handouts will be forwarded via email prior to the start of class.
Students who complete this course will be able to apply techniques learned to:
- Discover the basic techniques and common difficulties in genealogy i.e. unknown facts, family folklore, and brick walls.
- Gather specific information from family documents for use.
- Use traditional and non-traditional resources beyond the family.
- Compiling and sharing results in print, digital options, and family reunion
- Set up a research plan as the project needs to continue.
